My Photo Challenge

Thought since it's officially FALL I'd warm up the font color a bit :) Okay, so lots to share about New York City, but first I need to catch up on the 30-Day Photo Challenge. I don't have Days 1-4 cause there on my laptop, but I do have these from the beautiful city of New York.

Day 5 FAMILY

Pictured here is myself with my husband and mother-in-law. Lombardi's Pizza was suggested to us by some friends and boy o' boy was it delicious!!

Day 6 OUTDOORS

Any visit to NYC must include a trip to the beautiful Central Park. Here are a few pictures from there...

Day 7 HOBBY

I have more than one hobby, so I included one of myself cause photography is definitely something I love doing...I may not do it well, but I love to try. And second is a few pictures of some headbands, which is my other hobby, my small business :)

[side note: I wasn't finished with the blog when it posted yesterday. My mouse decided to die on me so I had to control everything from the keyboard.]

Anywho - I'll be posting about the trip a bit later today, so stay tuned!

Launch of 'A Stellar Find'

I'm stoked to finally announce with great confidence, the launch of what was once my side hobby for nearly 4 years...A Stellar Find!! Whoohooo! Thank the Lord for those He has placed in my life to speak encouragement, wisdom and boldness to me! The renowned, Tim Storey, is coming back to my church, Solid Rock, and in his promo video he said, "Someone's gonna start something...someone is gonna step outta the box and do something they've never done before!" Oh Mr. Tim...God is speaking to me brotha and I'm listening!!
Earlier this month I hosted my first trunk show (I'll post pics soon!) and it was a great success. There I had the opportunity to show some of my little this and that's and it turned out to be a big financial gain for me :) I was definitely surprised because of course I had that little doubt, wondering if people would think it's cheesy or not cute, but I was wrong!! Off that profit I have been able to order more of a variety of products and of course, more ideas have been flooding in.  I'm looking forward to all God is going to do with this, so stay tuned!!
Here are my links to the Etsy store and Facebook :)

**you'll see prices vary...the Facebook site is more for locals, so I don't have to charge shipping or include charges from Etsy**

Anywho...thanks for stopping in.  I hope this will inspire and encourage YOU to start something!!

Love,

Felt Bows & Flowers

So I was checking out Little Miss Momma's tutorial on pom pom's and also another blog where there was a quick how-to on rosettes and thought, I can totally do that!! So I did. While I was searching through my daughter's clothes to do the freezer paper transfer I came across a shirt to work my skill on these flowers. Here is the shirt before:
The bottom shows the ruffles that I knew would be perfect for the rosette and I cut small circles out of the rest of the shirt to make the pom pom.  Again, you must forgive the quality of the pictures!! I still haven't got a new card for my camera &&& I haven't gone to get batteries, so here we are using my camera phone again!!

I wasn't too thrilled on how the pom pom came out...I think if the fabric was a bit heavier it might have stood well.
NEXT I was on to making felt bows :) I was excited to see how this would work out. I bought one sheet of felt from HL and went at it.  I hadn't seen a tutorial on this, but I carefully inspected pictures I had seen on some etsy shops and figured it wouldn't be too hard to do. So here it is...
Really simple...sorry I was too excited to add step by step...
I had a clip laying around in the basket of bows so I thru that on back (glued)
Here is the side view so that you can see the width

And this is my beauty Sophia...
Isn't it too cute!! I love it! And super cheap! Suuuuper cheap!!
