This is the stuff

So this week has been one I've needed for quite some time! We had a couple things going on with our boys that have just brightened up my week, for sure! Our youngest son had a musical performance at his school Tuesday night that was just cute as can be.  I'm sure you can imagine seeing a bunch of kindergartner's singing off tune and dancing to the beat of their own drum - it was so funny! But they certainly did a great job.  My boy stole the show, in my own heart :). He was great! He had been talking about it all month, giving me daily reminders of when it is, so I know how excited he must have been.  As you can see in the picture below, his little neck veins show the passion he had in singing...
My ma and aunt showed up to support him, along with my daughter who insisted on getting in on the picture (I think all girls want the spotlight and they'll take it whether you like it or not).
Next another preparation met its day, the Spelling Bee.  Ahh! How nerve racking this had been.  Oh, first a bit of background...he was one of two selected from his class to participate. So with that I had been on him about studying and more studying because I wanted him to know that he was chosen because his teacher obviously believes that he is capable of doing a good job.  So last night we skipped out on church so he could study and hit the sack early. Oh my poor baby, I had him in tears while studying...going over the words again and again.  But I kept telling him, trust me, all the hard work will pay off.  We prayed last night about it and all morning I was speaking with God about this...praying that Leo wouldn't be nervous, reminding God of the spirit of power he's given him...praying that all will be brought back to remembrance, etc. So sure enough, glory to God...

Our son won Grand Champion of the entire Spelling Bee (1st & 2nd)!!! We are still so excited!! Daddy was especially excited cause he was a winner of the Spelling Bee too. Another great thing about this event was that our nephew participated in the bee, too. He made it to the top three, which made him 1st place winner of the first graders.
And the last highlight of my week is my dad (shown above). He made it to the spelling bee which not only made the boys' morning, but mine too!  Being that he lives in the next town over and his occupation, it's not too often he can make it to these functions, but boy am I glad he did.
It has been beautiful memories made and I am one proud momma :)
